Soulma 23, a new project from veteran Merseyside producer Mark Kyriacou and Rio’s Nabisi. One of our favorite albums of the last few years was Mark’s Transmission Towers LP on Luke Una’s É Soul Cultura imprint. When Mark reached out to us recently, looking for a vocalist from Brazil, we knew we had to link him up with Nabisi, an artist whose samba/punk roots seemed to match Mark’s maverick style. Soulma 23 was born, a mixture of emotive, left-field electronic soul with tri-lingual lyrics that provide an ethereal melodic juxtaposition to the dense crackle and hum of Mark’s synths.
