Uomo Meccanico, also known as Nicola Altieri, is a producer from Naples well wortyh keeping an eye on. ‘Odyssey’ is a heads down smoke machine trip with an arpy baseline and a proper old style sample, perfect for big systems. ‘Strange Interferences’ is a straight up acid sleazebomb, squelching like a wet flip flop and again perfect sample technique. ‘It’s All Magic No Tricks’ drops the tempo and a syrupy sample over basement bass and melodies, strangely familiar but alien. ‘La Guardia De La Luz’ then takes us on a slow drive through the desert, San Pedro dream style, slo mo brooding and massively Balearic. A real gem.
