Hardly a week passes without a release that has been touched by Dimitri From Paris and this week is no exception. DFP Vaults gives us an essential 7inch by The Soul Searchers and their seminal ‘Ashley’s Roachclip’. The a-side remixed by DFP a more DJ friendly version and the flip is Dimitri’s edit which is closer to the original. As per usual this won’t hang around for long so you know what to do.
While Four Tet isn’t something we would normally sell, Kieron Hebdon has teamed up with William Tyler and produced a mid temp epic 10 minute builder called ‘Darkness Darkness‘. Not many tunes take me aback but this certainly made me pay attention and now i can’t stop listing to it, hard to describe but brilliant. We have a repress of Harvey’s edit of Doc Severinsen – I wanna Be With You on Epic. If you don’t know it, it sounds a bit like the Average White Band which is no bad thing. Absolute belter guaranteed to the party rocking. Gilles Peterson has been playing the latest Kalita by 80’s LA outfit Addmoro. Rock & Roll Skate .
An infectious horn-driven disco track that makes it hard to believe this is the 1st time on a 12″. Kalita records are hot at the moment, especially after the excellent Billy Evans – Prisoner Of My Weakness 12″ from a few weeks earlier.
