‘Mouth’ has long held cult status among deep house heads and vinyl diggers, the kind of record that circulates through crates and DJ bags on reputation alone. Iz & Diz’s original is a masterclass in restraint — a hypnotic, bass-heavy groove that rewards patience and repeated listens, the sort of track that reveals new layers every time it hits a proper soundsystem.

What elevated ‘Mouth’ to legendary status, though, was the remix work attached to it — particularly the version credited here as “Brad Peep’s Remix For Friends,” widely known to be the work of Pepé Bradock. Originally cut as a limited, personal edit for friends rather than public release, it became one of those coveted, whispered-about pieces of house music folklore. Bradock’s reworking is genuinely groundbreaking: warped, off-kilter, and deeply idiosyncratic, it reshaped the original into something stranger and more hypnotic, influencing a generation of deep house and outsider dance producers who followed in his footsteps.

This reissue on Classic pairs the original and remix alongside a version originally held off the first pressing.
