The highlight of the week 19 would be from Galaxy Sound Co. who constantly come up with the goods with great funk and jazz edits all pressed on 45’s. This time it’s their Solo 500 imprint and it’s got a great version of latin classic ‘Que Se Sepa’ and with a nice extended edit of Airto Moreira’s ‘Peasant’ this 7″ is essential. Very Limited and we may be the only people in the UK with it. Other goodies include another instalment Barefoot Beats which gives us 4 house & disco edit action from Pete Herbert & Jkriv to name a few. Blue Note give us a couple of Tone Poet series releases with Gil Evans Orchestra’s ‘Great Jazz Standard‘ and Freddie Hubbard’s ‘Blue Spirit’. Both beautifully packaged and remastered. Restocks for the week have mainly been Galaxy Sound Co. but quite a few flew straight back out, check out the remaining ones and also Black Hole titles.
